Welcome to Valley!

I grew up in western Loudoun & have been serving LVCN in some capacity upwards of 30 years! Since answering God's call to ministry, I have been dedicated to finding new ways to serve my community. Outside of work and ministry, you'll find me hula hooping, attending comicons with my loving husband Stu, and enjoying a huge cup of tea! My favorite hobbies include cuddling my two pugs and exploring the countryside.

My rich background of music obtained from Eastern Nazarene College really drove my love for music ministry. I became the Worship Leader at LVCN in 1999 and after 25 years in this role, I retired in 2024. I am an ordained Deacon of Music in the Church of the Nazarene and after 38 years of combined service in 3 churches, the General Church granted me retired status during the Virginia District Assembly in 2024. I am still actively involved at LVCN and periodically sing on the Worship Team and lead whenever needed. My current role at LVCN is Associate Pastor with a main focus of overseeing the Greeter Ministry and supporting the Senior Pastor in whatever ways needed. In Acts 4:36 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, was renamed by the apostles as Barnabas which means (Son of Encouragement). That is my focus now, encouraging those elected to the church board, ministry leaders and members of our congregation. I often enjoy visiting my home state of Maine and spending time with my wife and two daughters and their families. Two of my favorite things are chocolate and Christmas! 

Coming to Loudoun Valley as the new Worship Ministry Director in July of 2024 was actually the result of a “suddenly” event - in 1999 - a hundred miles away!      

While attending a Nazarene church in south-central PA, and following the departure of our worship leader, the Pastor asked me to consider filling that vacancy (if only for a short time).  I played guitar, and I could sing…but leading a congregation in worship??  A road I had not previously travelled, but the need was there, so walking by faith- I said, “Yes." 

10 years later I was still at it, carrying the new realization that all those years of playing for myself had just been preparation for the future purposes and plans God had for my life.  I have been blessed over the past 26 years to serve as Worship Leader at several Nazarene churches in both the Mid-Atlantic District, and Virginia District.

Growing up as a missionary kid left a significant impact on me, and I am passionate about sharing the gospel with people all around the world. I love inviting missionaries to church from various international locations to let us know in-person how the Word is benefitting their communities! I have enjoyed going on Work & Witness trips to South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East to help build schools and churches. In my free time, I enjoy growing plants in every room of the house! I also enjoy hiking and exploring new places with my husband and two grown-up kids: a teacher and an Airman.
