Our Story

Then
Now

In the summer of 1933, a group of people began worshipping in a tent in northwest Loudoun County and was officially founded in August of that year.
In 1993, the local fire and rescue company added a community hall to its facility, and Loudoun Valley Church of the Nazarene (LVCN) was able to use it for the next 4 and 1/2 years.
In 1995, we purchased the six and a half acres and a parsonage on Charles Town Pike, and in 1998, we moved into the beautiful building you see today!
The body is not made up of one part but of many [ 1 Corinthians 12:20] ❤️
1 Corinthians 12:14-20
14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15 Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
At LVCN, we are a group of people in a family relationship, doing life together. We teach, learn, laugh, cry, eat, and play together. In doing so, the gospel gets lived out within our relationships. As a family we are one church, but we have many parts: each member serving his/her own role within the church. LVCN is a place where we put into practice that Fruit of the Spirit which God has placed within us. We welcome you to also be a unique part of our church family to love God, love people, and serve both.
Below are a sampling of the periodic ways we gather together -
Snacks & Fellowship Following Service
Following the service every Sunday, we gather for a light lunch and fellowship. That gives us time to catch up with one another and just enjoy the company.
WOTW
Worship On The Weekdays (or WOTW) as our worship leader, Marc Seeley, likes to call it, is a Spotify playlist of the songs which will be coming up the following week. It's worshipful music to listen to on the weekdays and to familiarize everyone with the upcoming songs. It's another tool that the music ministry like to provide so that everyone has music all through the week.
Get To Know Your Neighbor
We've all got a testimony to share. Get To Know Your Neighbor is the opportunity for anyone to share their testimony with the church family during the service. Talk with Pastor Madi to schedule a time to share your testimony!
Prayer Tuesday
Every Tuesday evening, we have a time to break away from the hustle and bustle of the world. The church is open for prayer usually one Tuesday of the month, with the tone of the sanctuary set for peace, reflection, and communication with God. The other Tuesday nights are virtual with text prompts.
Art & Hang
Art & Hang nights occur one Friday night a month. Bring any artistic items you're working on, and hang out with fellow "artists".
Potlucks
We have organized potlucks several times a year. They usually occur directly after the worship service, giving us the opportunity to celebrate, eat, and fellowship together. Typical potlucks celebrate Christmas and Spring.
